Hello World!

I am Marcos "Takeshi" Miranda, a disabled, Filipino-American Human/Pariah living in the Philippines. Takeshi was the nickname I was given when I took 1st year, 1st semester of high school Japanese (back in September 1987); I'm now using Takeshi as my nickname (formerly known as "Kuya Marc"). Nowadays, I am a full-time hobbyist with a multitude of avocations, including being an occasional keyboardist for the past decade.

Digital Artist Avocation

Starting off... No, I do not know how to use Adobe Photoshop! Despite being expensive, I have tried demo (and pirated) copies and always got confused! Since the year 2001, I have been using GIMP via GNU/Linux for my digital artwork, but prior to the year 2014, my GIMP work was on an as needed basis.
Back in August 2014, I made a decision to start a non-technical hobby, called drawing/painting by hand. Then, in September 2014, I bought the Genius EasyPen i405X as my first and only graphics tablet. Since then, I have invested in the following software:

• ArtRage for Android

Effective May 25, 2017: I am officially reducing my artwork and transfered my tools to my nephew.

The Music I Listen To...

Believe it or not, I do enjoy listening to music! Here are the Internet music/radio stations I commonly listen to, often via Google Chromecast:

• DEF CON Radio
• Drone Zone
• Underground 80's

I frequently listen to Space Station Soma and/or music from The X-Files when developing new digital art.

My Linguistics Avocation

Among my multitude of avocations, is Linguistics, or more specifically, Applied Linguistics. I'm a Linguist, here are my Languages:

1. American English: My Native Language
2. American Spanish: 3 years from high school, 3 decades ago
3. Japanese: ½ year, 3 decades ago *
4. Filipino/Tagalog: Actively learning, off and on
5. Mandarin Chinese: Started in July 2000 *
6. Cantonese: Started in September 2013
7. Thai: Started in January 2016

* - I'm actively studying this language.
Just because I study languages other than American English does NOT mean I speak them! In the field of linguistics, my primary focuses are Speech Synthesis and Translation.

Writing HTML Since 1994...

Ever wondered about my fancy writings in Deviant Art? Well, I commonly use HTML here. I first learned HTML in 1994 and published my 1st HTML web page in 1995. I wrote my 1st HTML web page (in 1995) using Microsoft Notepad in Windows 95. So, from 1995 until 2012 or so, I was a HTML-based webmaster. Nowadays, I do some lite HTML writing within blog sites.
